I asked you guys on the Substack app (download if you haven’t yet) what type of book you want for February. Between the responses there and individual messages you guy sent me, we’ve landed on a new type of book. I’m really excited to read our first Big Nerds History book…
This book is the most mainstream we’ve read, with over 12 million copies sold in just over 10 years. The book is full of interesting mental models that we can learn from to explain and live in the world today.
Sapiens is a brief history of humankind. It starts just before we created fire, when we lived as equals among the wild animals, and brings us through the:
cognitive revolution,
agricultural revolution,
industrial revolution and,
scientific revolution.
I’ve read Sapiens cover-to-cover three times and I still find new bits of wisdom each time I read it. I would highly recommend getting your own copy and reading along this time because we only have 30 days with the book but there are hundreds of great ideas to dive into in this book.
So excited to read this together!
Your Biggest Fan,
Noah “BigNerd” Sochaczevski
PS. We’re coming up on the 100th BigNerds post! It’ll be right around the time we start Sapiens. I don’t ask much, I don’t run ads or charge money, but I do have one thing to ask of you guys. If each Big Nerd can get one friend to join, we’ll have more than 100 Nerds by our 100th post together. So think about the people in your life. Which of them could use some BigNerds to start their days?
